Get To Know Me Better

About pages are usually so serious and structured. Life isn’t.
So before I tell my story, I think it will be more interesting to share some points of my current life philosophy (I write “current” because everything is temporary).

Keep It Real

Be yourself. You don’t have to impress anyone by pretending you are someone else. Be human, not perfect.

Live Free And If You Can Don’t Give A Fuck

To really experience life is to be aligned with what you want and how you feel. It enables to follow your heart and create the life that is right for you – not your parents, partner or friends.

Aim For Balance

Being too strict and holding a black or white perspective is never the answer to well-being. Choose “this AND that” over “this OR that” and be tuned for what your soul needs.

Have Fun And Be Kind

We are here to enjoy our short short visit on earth. Don’t put too much weight on stuff. Focus on making yourself happy, and avoid stepping on anyone in the way.

The tragedy of life is that we seek to understand the goal and not the man

MY STORY

Let’s start with the present. My name is Yaniv Shein, and I’m a life coach. I live in Tel Aviv with my one-of-a-kind wife and two incredible children. I adore animals, and I’m a calisthenics and street workout enthusiast.

I’m also a fuck-up, and I write this with love. I’m not perfect. I have bad days and good days, and I’m a work in progress. It would have been boring otherwise, wasn’t it?

I’ve always loved having deep conversations. People seemed to feel comfortable with me and open up since I was young.
When I finished my army service at 22, I moved to NYC for a year. I would sit in bars all over Manhattan talking to strangers about life, and then I realized that people are my thing.

Next, I moved to Tel Aviv. I studied for a degree in Behavioral Sciences and worked for several years with at-risk youth during the day and as a bartender at night.
But something was missing. I felt an urge to go bigger. To feel challenged. So I did 360 and went from being some kind of social worker to a Don Draper in Mad Men – I studied brand strategy and worked as a planner in the advertising world for five years.

This is where it gets interesting. In my last year as a planner, I wasn’t me. I couldn’t do the job right, I was unmotivated, and my mind was overwhelmed. I was confused and stressed.
I knew this was the end of an era when a colleague of mine asked “do you want to be the chief strategy of this company one day?” and I answered FUCK NO.

There I was in my mid-30s, unemployed, thinking about having a second child and feeling completely lost. Usually, it was easy for me to choose the next step – I just followed my gut. But this time there was quiet. I had no idea where I was heading, and I felt it all: shame, guilt, resentment, hopelessness, and mostly unworthiness.

One day, I remember telling myself I need to work to find the answers. So I started asking better questions and investigating what Robin Sharma, Tony Robbins, and their alike know and do in life that I don’t. While I didn’t find a recipe for a perfect life, I did find my passion again. They all are leading people who want to create a better life. And simple as that (actually, it was agony before it felt simple), I decided it was time to return to my roots and work with people.

Today I am proud to be a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) trained by the Coactive Training Institute, one of the most respected coach training schools in the world, and a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF). I do what I love, and I wish the same for you.
